VISIT BELFAST ZOO

The 55 acres of Belfast Zoo offers stunning views over Belfast Lough. The rich variety of plants, gardens and native trees are designed to replicate the natural habitats of the many animals that are under threat in the wild.

On entering the zoo the stunning lake side is the first main area to be seen by visitors. The area contains picnic tables, a play park and a farm. It is home to animals such as ring-tailed lemurs, sitatunga, waterfowl and greater flamingos.

The Bird Park contains many exotic and endangered birds, including blue-bellied rollers, hornbills and white-crested turacos and in the dense tropical landscaping of the walk-through Tropical Rainforest House there are fruit bats, whistling ducks, Nicobar pigeons and a greater necklace laughing thrush.

The giraffe and elephant enclosure include ostriches and Grant’s zebras and near to the entrance of the enclosure there are meerkats and cape porcupines.

We continue our journey via Maybole and Girvan before joining the Stena line ferry at Stranraer to arrive in Belfast approximately 12:30.

We depart Belfast at 16:15 and travel on the 17:00 HSS sailing to Stranraer arriving in Ayr at approximately 21:00
