Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park is divided into distinct areas that embrace diverse landscapes. Ben Lomond stands guard over romantic Loch Lomond, the largest expanse of freshwater in Great Britain. In the north the loch is deep and narrow, whilst in the south it opens out into an island studded panorama. As you climb up through the twisting Duke’s Pass, from Aberfoyle to Loch Katrine, the wild glens and sparkling lochs of the Trossachs show the sharp contrast between Highlands and Lowlands and are often regarded as the ‘Highlands in miniature'.
